by Nick Bari, Community Watch
In a continued effort to broaden internet safety and education, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has launched a new site called NetSmartz 411. This site is a new online resource for answering questions about Internet safety, computers, and the Web for parents.
One can search the knowledge base for answers to all of your questions about the online world!
Examples of questions and answers in the NetSmartz 411 knowledgebase include:
What is an IP address?
What is the best Internet monitoring software?
What is a buddy list?
What is MySpace?
What is Xanga?
What is AIM?
What should I do if I think my child is talking to a predator online?
If you can't find what you're looking for, use the "Ask the Experts" tab to send a new question. Your questions will be answered by professionals who know a lot about Internet safety – the real-life analysts at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. They handle daily reports about the online exploitation of children, and know steps you can take to keep the children and teens in your life safer online.
NetSmartz411 is provided at no cost to the public by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. This service is made possible by generous donations from the Qwest Foundation. We look forward to reading your questions and comments about the site.
